Who is John Van Doorn?
Dr. John Van Doorn is a lifelong public servant, Eagle Scout, and political science professor who has spent more than 25 years working globally and locally to improve communities. He is committed to bringing honesty, service, and practical solutions to Columbus City Council.

Why is he running for City Council?
John believes Columbus deserves leaders who put the public good first. He’s running to bring integrity, transparency, and real community engagement in local government.

What are his priorities?
His priorities include safer neighborhoods, stronger support for small businesses, more walkable and bike-friendly streets, and practical solutions for economic growth that benefit everyone.

How will he stay connected with constituents?
John plans to hold regular “walkabouts” and “bike-abouts” in every part of District 9, giving neighbors a chance to share their concerns face-to-face. He believes government works best when leaders listen first.
