City Council Meeting Summary - Jan. 13, 2026

Want to know what happened at the city council meeting, but you don’t have hours to watch it? I made a quick summary to save you some time.

The Jan. 13 meeting caught City Council off guard as they learned about a proposed $143 million upgrade needed to the A.J. McClung Stadium. This should not have been a surprise. Research shows that this is a common problem for cities the size of Columbus.

While the current Council may not be prepared to address this issue, I am aware of several solutions. First, we could consider sponsorship opportunities with private business. Another alternative would be to focus on smaller amateur stadiums around the city that would be less costly. Either way, input from citizens should be considered to determine how they most would like to see tax dollars spent.
