Community Bike Ride and Conversation

I want to invite you to get outside with me, meet some neighbors, and dream big about the future of our city. On Saturday, November 8, we’re launching my campaign for Columbus City Council. This campaign will not begin with a closed door gala or banquet, but with a casual community bike ride and conversation.

We’ll start at Ride On Bikes at 1:30 p.m., ride down along the RiverWalk to the VFW Post 665 for a light bites and refreshments at 2 p.m., and then head back around 4 p.m. You can ride the whole way, join anywhere along the route, or just come for the food and conversation. Don’t have a bike? No problem. Bikes will be available for rent at Ride on Bikes.

This event sets the tone for my campaign and the kind of openness, connection, and vision that I want to bring to Columbus City Council. I want to bring people together from all neighborhoods so that we can connect with one another around our shared hopes for safety, health, and community.

This campaign is about building a healthier, more connected Columbus — one conversation and one ride at a time. I want to meet you where you are, listen to your ideas, and imagine what we can create together.

Attendees are encouraged to make a $25 campaign donation, but any amount is appreciated. If you can’t make it, I’d still love your support as we get rolling. Every dollar helps us reach more neighbors and build the kind of city we all want to live in. You can make a contribution right now at electjohnvandoorn.com.

I hope you’ll join me — on your bike, at the table, or online — as we start this journey together.
